The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) educates marketers, agencies, media companies and the wider business community about the value of interactive advertising. Working with its member companies, the IAB evaluates and recommends standards and practices and fields critical research on interactive advertising. BlueKai is an active member of the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) in both the US and EU, belonging to several data committees
The Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) is a coalition of over 80 online advertising companies committed to complying with tough self-regulatory standards that establish and reward responsible business and data management practices. The NAI requires all member companies to comply with the NAI’s Self-Regulatory Code of Conduct, which imposes notice, choice, education, data protection and other requirements with respect to the collection and use of data for online behavioral advertising. BlueKai is an NAI Board Member and has been compliant with NAI standards since 2009.
TRUSTe is an independent organization whose mission is to enable individuals and organizations to establish trusting relationships based on respect for personal identity and information by promoting the use of fair information practices. BlueKai is TRUSTe compliant and the first data company to be certified under the TRUSTed Data Collection Porgram and included in TRUSTe’s Tracking Protection List (TPL) for Internet Explorer 9.
The Digital Advertising Alliance works to give consumers a better understanding of and greater control over ads that are customized based on their online behavior (also called “interest-based” advertising). Participating companies share a commitment to delivering consumers a robust and credible Program of notice and choice for online behavioral advertising, and to enhancing consumer confidence in the online medium. BlueKai is compliant with Online Behavioral Advertising (OBA) standards and belongs to the DAA’s Principles and Communications Advisory Committee responsible for driving self-regulatory efforts.
The U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Framework and the U.S. Swiss Safe Harbor Framework are set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personally identifiable information from European Union member countries and Switzerland.
